Linda Fredheim is a furniture designer and maker based in Hobart. She has exhibited widely and undertakes both furniture commissions, collaborative projects with other artists and small production runs of bespoke packaging.

“I find designing and making with timber to be deeply satisfying, as the design process allows you to solve practical problems of how we live, but I also enjoy the actual process of working out how to make the piece.
My primary interest in furniture design is in the way we use furniture for storage and collecting, and I have a particular obsession with designing and making cabinets and drawers. Japanese Tansu, campaign furniture and Shaker pieces are an endless source of inspiration.”
