I am a furniture designer maker based in Nelson, New Zealand. I completed a degree in Furniture Design & Craftsmanship in the UK and moved to New Zealand in 2006.
I began trying to carve a career in designing and making furniture to commission in England at a time where women were not at all common in the workshop and it made for the most wonderful adventure. I have a passion for furniture making and aspire to create pieces of exceptional quality that enhance the spaces that they inhabit and provoke conversation.
I’m also passionate about helping others develop their woodworking skills, and so I’m currently a tutor at the Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson, New Zealand, where I teach term one of the Furniture Makers’ Programme as well as a range of short courses.
Since 2015 I have worked extensively with Michael Fortune as his teaching assistant in Australia, NZ and the USA as well as making his privately commissioned furniture for the Canadian Embassies in Berlin, Chicago, Jakarta, and most recently for the Wellington Chancery in New Zealand.
